A 3.2 magnitude earthquake occurred Saturday night in the Vrancea seismic zone. It was a deep earthquake that was especially felt in the cities near the epicenter, Mediafax reports.
According to the National Institute for Research and Development of Physics of the Earth, the earthquake occurred on Saturday at 20:54:28, in Buzău county, Vrancea seismic zone. The earthquake had a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale and occurred at a depth of 140 kilometers. The earthquake did not cause any damage.
The movement of the earth’s crust took place near the following cities: 49 km NE of Ploiești, 60 km SE of Brașov, 103 km N of Bucharest, 123 km NE of Pitești, 135 km W of Brăila, 140 km W of Galați, 143 km S of Bacău, 168 km N of Ruse, 171 km E of Sibiu and 226 km southwest of Iași.
The strongest earthquake this year occurred on January 31, in Vrancea County, at a depth of 121 kilometers, and had a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was also felt in Bucharest.
