The highway will connect the town of Vălenii de Munte with the town of Busteni on the Baiului Mountains and will have a length of approximately 70 kilometers.

The good news is that this alternate route, which could alleviate DN1 from the congestion experienced by all drivers, partially exists, but needs rehabilitation to handle much heavier traffic than today. The complicated part of the project is in the area of the alpine depression in the Baiului Mountains. And here is a road, just a forest road.

The road that will connect DN1 with DN1 includes four county roads (DJ 102I, DJ 101T, DJ 102, DJ 100G), starts at the Busteni complex, crosses the Baiului mountains through an alpine hollow, descends to Valea Doftanei and then follow the course at DJ 102I Brebu- Aluniş-Vărbilău- Poiana Vărbilău and will arrive at the municipality of Gura Vitioarei, respectively Vălenii de Munte – DN1A.

Ana Maria Vasile, executive director of the Prahova City Council, specified for Adevărul that the value of the project is estimated at 45-50 million euros.

The second alternative to DN1, the highway that will connect Brasov with Prahova through the Doftana valley, is already underway. For about a month, the works began on the first section of Prahova, the girders were mounted on the first bridge that crosses the Valea Seacă stream.

The highway is 14.6 kilometers long in Prahova and 12 kilometers in Brasov. From Valea Doftanei you get to Brădet and from here, on DN1A you leave in Braşov.

Lucian Vileford Costea, mayor of the Valea Doftanei commune, specified that the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of next year, more precisely on December 30.

The highway that will connect Brasov and Prahova through the Doftana Valley has created a number of controversies. well developed to create comfort for drivers who would choose to reach the mountains avoiding the crowds in the Prahova valley.
