Due to the status of the host country, Romania is confident of qualifying for the finals, leading to a historic premiere of “tricolor” football. Specifically, Romania will play for the first time with three European youth players, representative of the U21 who evolve in 2019 in Italy and San Marino, where they reached the semifinals, and qualifying for Euro next year.

However, attendance at three final Euro U21 tournaments is not the only historical premiere verified after obtaining the youth seat of Euro 2023.
With the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee, Romania became the only European country to host two final European Championship tournaments for youth teams, after the 1998 European Championship was played in Romania.
The 2023 European Youth Championship will be organized by Romania in two cities, Bucharest and Cluj, the final tournament matches will be played at the National Arena, Ghencea Stadium, Cluj Arena and the “Dr. Constantin Rădulescu” stadium.
The opening match will be played in Romania, while the final of Euro U21 2023 will be hosted by Georgia, most likely at the Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi.
