Niagara Falls will be illuminated in the colors of the Romanian flag on December 1, in honor of Romania’s National Day, following the steps taken by the Romanian Embassy in Ottawa.
Representatives of the “Noi Românii” television program, broadcast in Canada, also supported the approach, reports accentmontreal.com, cited by Agerpres.
The tricolor will be screened at the Cascading Falls on Tuesday, between 9:45 PM and 10:00 PM local time, and the moment can be viewed online at www.cliftonhill.com. The television program Noi Românii is made by Raul Dudnic and is broadcast throughout Canada on the OMNI channel.
Niagara Falls are a group of three waterfalls located on the border between Canada and the United States. In the United States, in the state of New York, there are American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, and in Canada, in Ontario, there are Horseshoe Falls, the largest and most spectacular of the three.
Last year, a Romanian woman living in Great Britain and on vacation in Canada, received the agreement that on Romania Day the famous waterfall would show the colors of the tricolor. In February 2017, during the massive protests in Romania against GEO 13, Canadian Niagara was lit up in red, yellow and blue in solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of Romanians who took to the streets, recalls the cited source.
