“The subsidy will continue to be paid in Bucharest and, in addition, it will be paid on time, so that we do not end up in all this mechanism by which debts accumulate and Termoenergetica or ELCEN run the risk of insolvency. I also tell you why the subsidy has to be paid more: you can’t make people pay for some of the losses you incur as a provider. At the moment, the real price of the gigacalorie is so high because the investments in the distribution network of the thermal agent were not made on time and because it is lost. That is why the subsidy will continue ”, explained the mayor general.
He explained that, as investments are made in the thermal energy production system and district heating, the reduction of the subsidy to the heating medium may be considered.
“Eventually we will think about reducing the subsidy when we make these investments and the real value of gigacalorie production and transportation will be much lower,” added Nicusor Dan.
When asked if the gigacalorie price for the people of Bucharest will increase this winter, the mayor answered no.
