A 35-year-old man from Galați County died after a stun rod entered his eyes. The accident occurred while the victim was trying to repair the weapon used to kill the animals. The SMURD helicopter was dispatched to the scene, but the man could not be rescued.

The accident occurred on Wednesday inside a house in the commune of Ivești, Galaţi. The representatives of IPJ Galați confirmed, at the request of MEDIAFAX, that the call to 112 was made around 12:45.
Medical teams and police arrived at the scene and found that the man was injured while trying to repair a stunner. It appears that the shaft of the weapon used to kill the animals flew into the victim’s eyes. The man died shortly after the accident and doctors were unable to save him. The SMURD helicopter was also dispatched to the scene.
The police have opened a criminal case for wrongful death. They are continuing their investigation to determine how the accident occurred and where the weapon was purchased.
