Almost all counties with a high rate of COVID-19 infection show slight declines, according to the latest assessment released by authorities. One explanation is that strict measures have been taken in many of these counties, including quarantine. Also, outbreaks are not taken into account when calculating the incidence per thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days.
For the first time in the past 11 days, the infection rate fell below 8 per thousand in Sibiu County. The infection rate reached 7.98 per thousand, according to the latest evaluation. Here, several localities, including the city of Sibiu, have been under quarantine for almost two weeks.
Ilfov, which ranks second in terms of infection rate, has an incidence of 7.1, slightly higher than the 7 recorded yesterday.
In third place as incidence is the county of Brașov, which reached 7, compared to 7.36 yesterday.
Constanța follows, with 6.89, slightly more than yesterday. Cluj, which yesterday had an incidence of more than 7, fell to 6.84.
In Bucharest, where the highest number of new cases is registered, the infection rate reached 6.62, compared to 6.55 yesterday.
Across the country, in the last 24 hours, 9,739 new cases of COVID-19 were registered, of the 35,575 tests carried out.
