Sources. How the PSD ruined the surprise of the RSU with the resignations of the Parliament. Bet: special pensions

USR lawmakers planned to announce their resignation en masse Tuesday morning to show they were giving up special pensions. According to the law, in order to benefit from the privileges, a parliamentarian must have at least a full term. Thus, by resignation, elected RSUs are no longer eligible for special pensions, provided that those who obtain the second or third term resign each time before the end.

“Tomorrow, starting at 10.30 am, in Parliament, the president of the USR, Dan Barna, will make an important announcement on special pensions together with all the other parliamentarians of the USR,” announced this Monday the communication group of the USR.

But the surprise was foiled by PSD. Political sources claim for Adevărul that one of the USR parliamentarians told Alfred Simonis, the leader of the PSD deputies, about the plan. Alfred Simonis, known as Freddy, sent Marcel Ciolacu to the party leader, who immediately posted a message on Facebook announcing that he was resigning from the Chamber of Deputies in order not to benefit from a special pension. Ciolacu ends his second term as a deputy in December, but even four years ago he resigned before the end, so he cannot receive a special pension because he does not have any full term. Still. Marcel Cioalcu should repeat his resignation until the end of his parliamentary career.

After Marcel Ciolacu’s publication, the RSU leaders did not wait until the morning and, in turn, announced on Facebook that he was resigning from Parliament. “The special pension is a challenge to the honest people of this country. Representing the popular will is an honor, not a task,” Dan Barna wrote on Facebook Monday night.
