Vaccination against the SARS-CoV-2 virus may begin in European Union countries in the first quarter of next year, says Andrea Ammon, director of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), Euronews reports.

The European Union could pay $ 10 billion to provide several hundred million doses of the vaccines developed by Pfizer / BioNTech and CureVac, Mediafax reports.
The American company Moderna this week announced an efficiency of 94.5% for the anti-COVID-19 vaccine it is developing, being the second company in the US that offers results well above expectations in this regard.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is currently “in daily discussions with the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to synchronize evaluations of coronavirus vaccines,” said Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission.
So far, the EC has entered into five reserve contracts with AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, CureVac, Pfizer / BioNTech and Santofi-GSK.
