Daniel Tudorache, former mayor of Sector 1 in Bucharest, announced that he is being suspended from the PSD, after ADN put him under judicial control in a money laundering case, according to Mediafax.
“In light of recent events, I made the decision to suspend myself from the PSD. I am innocent and I hope that Justice will shed light on this case as soon as possible. I do not want to jeopardize the real chances of winning the parliamentary elections that the party has. to which I have been a member for more than 20 years and in whose service I put all my political activity, ”the former mayor wrote on Facebook.
Previously, he reacted after being listened to for 12 hours on DNA: “No matter how unpleasant this topic is, I promised to keep you informed of the progress of the investigation. Last night they summoned me to DNA, where I stayed for more than 12 hours, asking for explanations for alleged events more than 12 years ago. I did not avail myself of the right to silence, because, as I said, I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE. I trust in Justice and I will actively contribute to discovering the truth. However, I can’t help but wonder: what requires such urgency, in the case of the alleged events of 2008 ??? Now, 2 weeks before the parliamentary elections! However, I refuse to enter the field of speculation, although the temptation is great … ”.
A bond of 1 million euros was set in the case of the former mayor of Sector 1, Daniel Tudorache, investigated by DNA. Prosecutors from the National Anticorruption Directorate announce that they have ordered the initiation of a criminal proceeding against Daniel Tudorache, former mayor of Sector 1 of Bucharest, for complicity in influence peddling and money laundering.
