A man from Gorj was caught fleeing the country to Dubai after sexually exploiting several girls, one minor. El Gorjean, helped by his father, obtained 500,000 euros, money with which he bought houses in Hungary, a car and a luxury vacation, and the rest of the money he placed in Switzerland, according to Mediafax.

Police say they have investigated a case of human trafficking, child trafficking, pimping and money laundering, in which two men were arrested.

On Thursday, a 30-year-old man from Gorj County was caught at a Bucharest airport, while allegedly trying to leave Romania for Dubai. In addition, on Thursday, the police conducted three house searches in Gorj county, as a result of which 12 mobile phones, bank cards, documents related to money transfers from abroad, as well as 6,900 euros, were no longer available.

The investigation has shown that, since 2015, the man has recruited, transported, transferred and sheltered three victims at home and abroad, including a minor, for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

In addition, from 2015 until now, with the help of other people, it would have determined and facilitated the practice of prostitution for 15 young women, on the territory of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

From the criminal activity, the man would have benefited from approximately 500,000 euros. Part of that amount was allegedly ‘laundered’ through a company acquired by man for that purpose.

With the money obtained, the man bought houses in Hungary and luxury cars. The money was also placed in safe deposit boxes at various banks in Switzerland.

According to DIICOT, the man posted marriage announcements with photos of girls on various sites, in order to attract clients and rent various properties where they practiced prostitution. Communication with clients was made exclusively through social networks, being the Twitter user who identified the clients and established the rate, using a single mobile terminal for each young person who prostituted, thus having absolute control over them.

The man was helped by his father who transported the young women to prostitution and took charge of the sums of money resulting from this activity.

Some of the money thus obtained was used by the suspects to buy real estate in Hungary, a luxury car and luxury vacations, and the rest was deposited in safe deposit boxes at various banks in Switzerland.

Gorjean and his father, 52, were detained for 24 hours and will be presented to the Gorj Court magistrates on Friday.
