After the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 10,269 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19), these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.
Unlike newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 1,207 people were positively reconfirmed.
COVID-19 deaths
- To date, 9,429 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
Between 11.17.2020 (10:00) and 11.18.2020 (10:00) it was reported 168 deaths (102 men and 66 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeş, Bacău, Bihor, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Botoşani, Brăila, Braşov, Buzău, Călăraşi, Caraş-Severin, Constanţa, Covasna , Dâmboviţa, Dolj, Galaţi, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomiţa, Iaşi, Maramureş, Mehedinţi, Mureş, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiş, Tulcea, Vâlcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucarest.
- Of these, 4 deaths were recorded in the age category 40 to 49 years, 16 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 42 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 62 deaths in the age category of age 70 to 79 years. years and 44 deaths in the category of over 80 years.
- 163 of the registered deaths were of patients who presented comorbidities and 5 deceased patients did not present comorbidities.
Patients admitted to ATI and freshly processed tests
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13,179. Of these, 1,174 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 3,771,316 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 37,906 were performed in the last 24 hours23,269 according to the definition of the case and medical protocol and 14,637 upon request.
Situation of people in quarantine
On the territory of Romania, 46,875 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home, and 13,285 people are in institutionalized isolation. Too, 80,763 people are quarantined at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 19 people.
In the last 24 hours, 5,494 calls to the single emergency number 112 and 747 of the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially to inform citizens.
- As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, on November 17 of this year, the police and gendarmes applied 7,768 penalties for minor offenses, in the amount of 1,357,090 lei.
- Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 7 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.
The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the notified aspects.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed as infected by the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
