In the last 24 hours, 10,269 new cases of COVID-19 were registered, of the 37,906 tests carried out. Another 168 Romanians died due to the coronavirus infection, while 1,174 COVID patients are hospitalized for intensive care.

To date, on November 18, in Romania, 383,743 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

261,387 patients were declared cured.

Following nationwide testing, compared to the last report, 10,269 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were recorded, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Aside from newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 1,207 people were positively reconfirmed.

According to the data communicated by the authorities, the county of Sibiu has exceeded the rate of 9 infections per thousand inhabitants.

To date, 9,429 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 17.11.2020 (10:00) – 18.11.2020 (10:00) 168 deaths were reported (102 men and 66 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in the hospitals of Alba, Arad, Argeș , Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Praov, Buzău, Sibia, Ialomița, Iava, Sibiu , Timiș, Tulcea, Vâlcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 4 deaths were recorded in the age category 40 to 49 years, 16 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 42 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 62 deaths in the age category of age 70 to 79 years. years and 44 deaths in the category of over 80 years.

163 of the registered deaths were of patients who presented comorbidities and 5 deceased patients did not present comorbidities.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13,179. Of them, 1,174 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 3,771,316 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 37,906 were performed in the last 24 hours, 23,269 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 14,637 upon request.

In Romania, 46,875 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 13,285 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 80,763 people are quarantined at home and 19 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 5,494 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 747 of the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially to inform citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on November 17 of this year, 7,768 sanctions for minor offenses, worth 1,357,090 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, 7 crimes were found yesterday to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
