Dr. Bogdan Tănase, Chief Surgeon for Thoracic Surgery and General Surgery, Medical Director of the Bucharest Cancer Institute, spoke at the “Academy of Health” about one of the leading causes of mortality in Romania and in the world.
Dr. Bogdan Tanase spoke at the “Academy of Health” about bronchopulmonary cancer, the incidence of this disease, but also about modern treatments that are applied in such situations.
“Bronchopulmonary cancer is one of the main causes of mortality, not only in Romania but also in the whole world. It is perhaps the third most common cancer after breast and colorectal cancer; I speak all over the world, because in Romania we have other candidates in these unwanted places like cervical cancer and others.
But bronchopulmonary cancer is one of the leading causes of death. Being so common, it is also one of the best-studied cancers and an extremely fruitful field of research at the moment, ”explained Dr. Bogdan Tănase.
