The city of Cluj-Napoca is not yet under quarantine, although the cumulative incidence rate of COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks is 9.04% per thousand inhabitants. County authorities decided to postpone it, citing several reasons.
“The 5 reasons why we have not yet discussed the quarantine in Cluj Napoca: 1. The DSP risk analysis does not meet the minimum criteria for quarantine; 2. The large amount of evidence that many cases generate, which is not weighted at the national level in the calculation of the incidence, but I weigh it when making the decision 3. The lowest mortality rate from Covid in the country 4. Increase in the capacity of Covid beds, 69 ATI beds plus another 27 in operation, so probably 96 by the end of the week; the incidence is calculated for the stable population of the municipality (those who are domiciled or floating), and we have many positives who have no legal way to stay here and artificially increase my incidence rate ”Is shown in a report by prefect Mircea Abrudean, quoted by Agerpres.
According to Monday’s GCS report, Cluj County ranks second nationally in terms of COVID-19 infection rate, after Sibiu County. The incidence in Cluj County registered on Monday is 7.37 per thousand inhabitants, decreasing with respect to the previous day when it was 7.56 per thousand inhabitants.
