The Greek group OTE, which recently signed the sale of its 54% stake in Telekom Romania Communications, Telekom’s fixed telephony services division, to Orange Romania, is reorganizing its activity and resigning, through voluntary departures, 600 employees, makes profit. ro
Since the beginning of the year, the company has already laid off 500 employees due to early retirement, so that, for the whole of 2020, OTE will close 1,100 positions.
As part of a transformation plan, the group will separate, into independent entities, customer relationship activities (Cosmote e-Value Contact Center), retail stores (Germanos Industrial & Commercial) and technical solutions (Cosmote Technical Solutions). About 5,000 OTE employees would be transferred to these companies, which will be established next year.
