A news channel affiliated with the Russian military claimed on the Telegram channel that the two bears had to be executed urgently because the bear’s mother was very weak and died anyway. However, the images show that the bear was of normal size for its species.
Between 10,000 and 14,000 brown bears live in Kamchatka. They feed on roots, fruits and honey, but they can attack people when they feel threatened.
