Romania’s prime minister announced on Monday that the government is preparing the government’s decision to extend the state of alert for 30 days. He said no further restrictions will be introduced.
“You know very well that the state of alert is established for 30 days and is extended by decision of the government for a maximum period of 30 days. We are preparing the government’s decision to extend the state of alert. As for us, we do not want to take other measures that impose other restrictions. We want the situation to improve, for the number of infections to decrease and, gradually, as the number of infections decreases, gradually return to an activity that is as close to normal as possible, ”said the prime minister, according to Agerpres.
Asked about the possible quarantine of the Capital, the Prime Minister explained: “Regarding the decision to quarantine some large cities or the Capital, it is a more difficult decision to make, because there are many considerations related to quarantine.”
“We don’t want to get here, our goal is to stop the increase in cases. In fact, in Bucharest there was an upward trend, but an upward trend that did not fit the specificities of the large metropolises in other European countries, where the progression was quite geometric, “he added.
The prime minister stressed that the decision to quarantine Bucharest is one made by public health specialists.
“It is a decision made by specialists in public health, epidemiologists, patients with infectious diseases and I do not dare to give it just once,” he said.
