It is my great honor and pleasure to congratulate you on your election as President of the United States of America.
Romania, as a trusted strategic partner of the United States, remains firmly committed to continuing to advance our common strategic security, defense, and economic goals.
His term as President of the United States of America will undoubtedly mark the strengthening of the already excellent cooperation between Romania and the United States, to which he has already made a substantial contribution, as Vice President. In this context, I remember with great pleasure the visit you made to Romania in 2014, as well as the personal support you have constantly given to my country.
I look forward to celebrating, in 2021, the 10th anniversary of the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Partnership for the 21st Century between Romania and the United States of America, adopted during his tenure as Vice President. Romania and the United States share the values of democracy, human rights, good governance and the rule of law, and our Strategic Partnership makes a decisive contribution to the democratic transformation of my country.
Romania stands firmly with the United States to face current challenges, from health to the economy and climate change, and from security to human rights, our goal being to guarantee a better future for our peoples.
As a strategic partner of the United States and an ally of NATO, Romania remains committed to contributing to its defense spending burden and to continuing to contribute to the security, prosperity and resilience of the global community of democracies.
