Ponta wants Prime Minister: I look forward to discussions with Mr. Orban, Mr. Cioloş and Mr. who will be from PSD

“Why are we doing this merger? Because it is the healthy reaction to the agreement under the table between PSD and PNL to remove the smaller parties from the political scene. It is obvious that the big ones do not need opposition, they need a bipolar system in which pass the flag from one to the other under the slogan “In new times also new”. Both ALDE and PRO Romania are two parties that confuse them and that is why they want to get rid of us. That is why we unite: to break their cooperative. We want to break their cooperative so as not to leave Romanians in a democracy ”, said Tariceanu in his speech on Sunday at the Pro Romania-ALDE merger Congress.

He described the new party resulting from the merger between Pro Romania and ALDE as “the new USL”, and said that it will be “the last bastion in defense of the rights and freedoms of Romanians.” In this context, Călin Popescu Tăriceanu submitted to the approval of the party Congress the support of Victor Ponta as a proposal for the post of Prime Minister.
“Victor can now lead us in the fight against austerity promoted by the Iohannis – Orban couple. Victor can show that we can go back to the good times of the Tariceanu and Ponta governments,” said Calin Popescu Tariceanu.

In turn, former prime minister Victor Ponta said he was “honored and anxious” to be the party’s candidate for prime minister.

“I look forward to the discussions with Mr. Orban, Mr. Cioloş and Mr. who will be from the PSD, that the PSD does not intend to win elections or govern at the moment. Perhaps I propose myself, that it would be from common sense, in a way, ”Ponta said.
