The two great rivals did not disappoint at all in one with great opportunities at both gates.
It was 1-1 at halftime after an incendiary final first half. Marco Reus opened the scoring, but Alaba immediately leveled with a free kick.
The Hansi Flick gang went nuts. After being denied a 0-0 goal by VAR, Lewandowski scored the 11th goal of this edition of the Bundesliga after a perfect cross from Hernández, then Coman hit the crossbar.
Neuer was masterful in the Bavarian goal, and Leroy Sané scored 3-1 on the counterattack.
Erling Haaland restored hope to the field of the hosts who were finally able to equalize through Reus. Bayern thought they had signed the fate of the derby in extra time, but again Lewandowski’s goal was disallowed by VAR.
Bayern rise to first place with 18 points after 7 stages, followed by Leipzig with 16 points and Dortmund with 15 points.
