Education Minister Monica Anisie said Saturday that action has begun against teachers who refuse to teach online. In Dâmbovița, for example, a teacher’s employment contract was terminated and in Vrancea a teacher was punished financially and disciplined.
The statements are framed in the context in which, for a long time, students have complained that there are teachers who refuse to teach lessons in such a system and sometimes just send a few sheets.
Starting Monday, all schools in Romania will enter the red stage, so exclusively online teaching, this being one of the new anti-coronavirus measures decided by the Government, which was adopted after the number of positive cases exceeds the 10,000.
The measure to prevent the spread of the virus also occurs in a context where places in ATI are extremely limited.
Crackdown on teachers who refuse to teach online
On Saturday, the Minister of Education told teachers who do not want to take their courses on the Internet that they have an obligation to do so, “in accordance with legal provisions, that if not, measures can be taken.” Monica Anisie also gave two examples.
“For teachers who do not want to do online education, I gave them a very clear message that all teachers must mobilize and carry out their activities in accordance with the legal provisions. If not, action can be taken.
