This year’s Christmas and New Year’s Eve will take place in atypical conditions, imposed by restrictive measures, Secretary of State Raed Arafat said. According to him, contact between people should be reduced to the limit during this period.
“It is true that the holidays will be different from those of other years. Contact and mobility must be at the limit, otherwise, after the holidays, we run the risk of waking up with new growth and having a new wave in January, February, March. We will have to be very careful how we run the holidays, ”Raed Arafat told PRO TV News.
The head of DSU said that the rules must be respected during the electoral campaign and parliamentary elections, recalling the situation after the local elections, when the celebration of the results caused an increase in the number of diseases.
“The rules must be followed during the elections. The last elections saw that the rules were respected, the problem appeared after the announcement of the results,” said Arafat.
Problems with Romanian patients that could be sent to other countries
The secretary of state also addressed the issue of Romanian Covid-19 patients who could be sent to hospitals in other countries, saying that this is very difficult to achieve now, because other states are also facing serious situations.
“We are willing to send patients to other countries, but it is very important that they also accept them. Unfortunately, the countries that could have received it 2-3 weeks ago are starting to get worse. It is a situation in a very fast dynamic,” said Raed Arafat.
