Education Minister Monica Anisie says that European funds for the purchase of laptops, tablets and smart tablets for schools have been exhausted in less than three days. Since the beginning of the activity, the requests have exceeded the allocated budget by 34 million.

School inspectorates and local authorities submitted projects worth 184 million euros, given that the initial budget was 150 million euros, Anisie wrote on Facebook.

Therefore, Anisie announced that she will try to find solutions to complement the funds and encouraged those who did not submit projects.

„School inspectorates and local public authorities were extraordinarily mobilized during this period to access European funds (150 million euros), in order to buy tablets, laptops, smart tablets for the endowment of educational units in Romania. In three days, since the opening of the call, 193 projects have been submitted, worth 184 million euros, above the allocated budget. However, I want to notify inspections and local public authorities that have not yet submitted their drafts that the appeal remains open until February 2. These days I will have a meeting with the Minister of European Funds, Marcel Ioan Boloș, to find solutions that complement the budget ”, Anisie wrote.
