Health Minister Nelu Tătaru says schools will not reopen if the number of illnesses increases.
The minister’s statement comes in the context in which information has emerged, according to sources, that central authorities are considering the option of gradually resuming face-to-face courses in schools, regardless of the rate of spread of COVID-19 among the population.
A first step would have been the resumption of classes in kindergarten and primary school, and then for the last years, which must support the national assessment and the baccalaureate at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
Currently, more than a million students and preschoolers study online, according to the centralization of the Ministry of Education.
