Authorities announced Tuesday a new record for COVID-19 cases: more than 7,700 Romanians have been confirmed with SARS-CoV-2 in the last 24 hours and 120 have lost the battle with the new virus. There are almost 1,000 patients in ICU wards in the country.

As of Tuesday, 258,437 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) had been confirmed in Romania and 181,175 patients had been declared cured.

In the last 24 hours, 7,733 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19).

As of Tuesday, 7,273 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection had died and 120 deaths had been reported in the past 24 hours, including 70 men and 50 women. These are patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeş, Bacău, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Botoşani, Brăila, Braşov, Buzău, Călăraşi, Caraş-Severin, Constanţa, Dolj, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Iaşi, Maramureş, Mehedinţi, Mureş, Neamţ, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiş, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 5 deaths were recorded in the age category 40 to 49 years, 6 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 20 deaths in the category of age 60-69 years, 36 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 31 deaths in the category over 80 years.

95 of the registered deaths are from some patients who presented comorbidities, 1 deceased patient did not present comorbidities and from 3 deceased patients, so far no comorbidities have been reported.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 11,489. Of these, 910 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 3,264,304 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 21,423 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 12,014 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9,409 on request.

Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 133 tests processed before the last 24 hours and transmitted until November 1 have been reported.

As of Saturday, October 31, in Romania, 241,339 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) were confirmed. 172,513 patients were declared cured.

After the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 5,753 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19), being these cases that have not previously had a positive test.

Distinguished from recently confirmed cases, after reassessment of patients who were already positive, 2,448 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 6,968 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 30.10.2020 (10:00) – 31.10.2020 (10:00), 101 deaths were reported (63 men and 38 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Argeş, Bacău, Bihor, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Botoşani, Brăila, Braşov, Călăraşi, Caraş-Severin, Constanţa, Dolj, Galaţi, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoaara, Ialomij Iaşi, Maramureş, Mehedinţi, Prahova, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiş, Vâlcea, Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 20 to 29 years, 4 deaths were recorded in the category 40 to 49 years, 10 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 22 deaths in the category of age 60-69 years, 33 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 31 deaths in the category over 80 years.

92 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, and so far no comorbidities of 9 deceased patients have been reported.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 11,254. Of these, 923 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 3,242,748 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 36,181 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 20,708 based on the definition of case and medical protocol and 15,473 upon request.
