What are the details of the Cristian Rizea scandal
Cristian Rizea, wanted internationally after fleeing Romania to escape a firm conviction for corruption, received citizenship of the Republic of Moldova in just a month and a half. According to the information, Rizea claimed that he is a descendant of a person born in this country.
The former PSD deputy was definitively sentenced in 2019 to 4 years and 8 months in prison with execution for influence peddling, money laundering and statements of influence.
Later, the Social Democrat was placed under international surveillance, but in the meantime he had taken refuge in the Republic of Moldova, where he acquired the citizenship of this country, which has no extradition agreement with Romania, as he himself declared.
What is Cristian Rizea’s connection to the Russian secret services?
Former PSD deputy Cristian Rizea fled Romania after the High Court of Cassation and Justice sentenced him to 4 years and 8 months in prison with execution. In the Republic of Moldova the name was changed to “Mihai Cristian” and the authorities did not bother him.
Cristian Rizea and relatives received other sets of documents, with other names, namely, Mihai Cristian Luigi, Mihai Josett-Anne-Marie and Mihai Albert Cristian, something that would not have been possible without the participation of Artur Gumeniuc who, in turn, has close cooperation with the Intelligence Services of the Russian Federation;
