This, given that there are three scenarios for the course as a consequence of the measures imposed in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and must guarantee equal opportunities for students.

Luminița Barcari specified that the problem occurs in the case of students learning online.

“For schools that operate in the green scenario, there is no problem, this summative evaluation – written work in that discipline – can be given under normal conditions. In the yellow dash, obviously when they go back to school, the students who have learned online can support this written work with the same type of elements used for the other half of the class. The problem arises where children are on the red stage ”, explained the Secretary of State at a press conference, writes Agerpres.

Luminița Barcari added that the Ministry of Education is considering organizing webinars for teachers to learn to assess in the online environment.

“The alternative is to go further (…) in the thesis, two to replace the thesis, because we cannot apply in a discriminatory way: either everyone gives a thesis, or no one gives. So, it is good to replace this type of written evaluation with a summative evaluation, but which must be scored normally, so that it does not have the weight that the thesis normally has – 25% of the average. There is also the option to delete the thesis and replace it with this summative evaluation. (…) It is not a simple decision. In the end, the student must be evaluated but, at the same time, he must have the same opportunities for a correct and objective evaluation ”, he mentioned.

According to the Secretary of State, the MEC also consults with school inspectorates on this matter, so that the best decision can be made.

“We also consult with the provinces, because it is a matter of great interest, we want to make the best decision. From the comments I received, there are pros and cons. We will analyze, “said Luminița Barcari.
