According to the telephone survey conducted by the WatchDog.md Community and the Public Policy Institute, Igor Dodon is credited with 40.9 percent of the votes and Maia Sandu with 34.6 percent of the options of the 1,514 respondents. The survey’s margin of error is 2.5 percent.

Renato Usatii ranked third, with 11.5 percent.

Șor Party candidate Violeta Ivanov ranks fourth, with 6.3 percent of the options, while DA Platform leader Andrei Năstase ranks fifth, with 1.7 percent.

Dorin Chirtoaca, leader of the PL, and Tudor Deliu, candidate of the PLDM, occupy the last positions, with 1.3 percent and 0.9 percent, respectively.

The poll also revealed that for Igor Dodon, older people vote, which is preferred by 76 percent of Russian speakers and appears to have scored better in the north and south of the Republic of Moldova.

Maia Sandu’s electorate is represented by the young population, with a higher level of education, practically exclusively Romanian-speaking (only 6 percent of Russian speakers voted for it). It has the greatest support in Chisinau and the central region of the Republic of Moldova.

Another telephone survey, carried out by the company “Intellect Group” in collaboration with the SPERO association, gives winners to Igor Dodon, with 28.5 percent, and Maia Sandu, with 21.5 percent. Renato Usatii is also in third place, with 8.8 percent. Next up are Violeta Ivanov, with 5.5 percent, and Andrei Nastase, with 4.5 percent. One or less percent would have belonged to Octavian Țîcu, Tudor Deliu and Dorin Chirtoacă.
