Therefore, the Romanian government will be picketed by doctors, nurses and other health workers.
The announcement was made by “Solidaridad Sanitaria”, a union structure that announced that it was created at a time when, for various reasons, the representation of workers in the health field runs the risk of being almost non-existent.
“This situation has determined us to act organizing a new union structure, as an alternative to what has been done so far in this regard,” reads the federation’s public page.
The Executive Bureau of the Federation “Solidaridad Sanitaria” has decided to support the demands presented to the Government through street protests, as of Thursday, the association announced in a public statement.
The protests will take place weekly in Victoriei Square, between 11:00 and 13:00, with the maximum number of participants legally possible, the first protest will be organized on November 5, 2020.
The reason for the protest is “the increasingly difficult situation of health workers, to the natural difficulties generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, adding the Government’s indifference to their rights and legitimate expectations.”
These protests are a continuation of the protests that began on October 7, 2020, in support of the call by health workers to respect decent working conditions.
“In support of the desire to resolve all issues through dialogue, the Federation for Health Solidarity requests the Prime Minister, Ludovic Orban, to organize and coordinate a meeting with representatives of the FSSR, attended by all ministers responsible for managing this situation ”, said the representatives of the federation. .
Among the demands of the trade unionists, already presented to the government, are: the adoption of all necessary measures to protect the health and safety of health workers, so as to cause a significant reduction in the number of employees infected with SARS-CoV-2 and, in particular, deaths from COVID. -19; guarantee access to all relevant information on the impact of COVID-19 on healthcare workers,

Likewise, the Federation “Solidaridad Sanitaria” also requests compliance with the legal right to a survivor’s pension for the children of companions who died in service; granting all the wage rights provided for by law, respectively the increase of up to 30%, the increase to combat the epidemic; grant all bonuses for maximum working conditions; increase in basic wages for all categories of workers from January 1, 2021 to the 2022 level; the possibility of benefiting from the reduction of the contribution period (retirement age) in proportion to the activity carried out above the basic norm; grant the risk incentive for the entire duration of the alert state for all health employees; readjust nurses on the pay scale; payment of guards with the hourly rate corresponding to the basic norm; reporting all increases to current base wages.
