Scandalous situation for a single-parent family from Oradea, isolated by coronavirus. A mother and her daughter, who had a temperature of 39 degrees, waited 27 hours for the ambulance. Just this morning, after Digi24 reporters took an interest in the case, a team came to test the girl. The head of SMURD Bihor says that the service he runs is outnumbered by the number of requests. In the last few days, the number of home test apps has multiplied by more than ten.
Madalina Anton, the girl’s mother: “We called at 8.21am yesterday morning, we called at 2.30pm and the last time last night. So, after 27 hours, an ambulance came home.
I’m in isolation on Tuesday, the little one on Thursday. We were not allowed to leave the house automatically. First they told me he would come during the day. Since the child has asthma, let’s see what treatment we will follow.
At 14 I called again, they told me that there were people waiting for the ambulance for three days, which really surprised me.
The situation degenerated, I called 112, the medical service, in the conditions in which I was already nervous, my phone closed on my nose. I called one more time, the response was amazing, that if I don’t want to wait, take my son to try it with money, not wait to do it for free. That’s even though I said it was isolated.
Then I called DSP Oradea, the lady told me that I could not call the ambulance, she suggested that I call the family doctor, that I should call the ambulance. “
Hadrian Borcea, Director of UPU SMURD Bihor: “For more than a week, once in Bihor, the rule was applied that each team that comes to a case to harvest suddenly increases the number of test requests, more than 10 times.
This week there were more than 230 calls for tests only, it is clear that the emergency teams cannot cope with the tests at this rate. Then it is prioritized.
In this case it was an 8-year-old boy, at home with his mother, already in isolation, it was not a problem related to the risk of transmitting it, the condition was with mild symptoms.
It is not the only case that is resolved after 36 hours ”.
