UPDATE 15:15 » EXCLUSIVE Dinamo – Astra does not play!
According to GSP.ro, the Professional Football League decided to reschedule the Dinamo – Astra match, as a result of the COVID-19 cases of the Giurgiu team. The team cannot meet the criteria of the sanitary protocol, it does not have 13 valid players for this match.
The earliest dates to be considered for rescheduling are November 14th or 15th!
Between November 11 and 18, Romania plays three games: with Belarus (friendly, November 11), with Norway (League of Nations, November 15) and with Northern Ireland (League of Nations, November 18). Furthermore, Romania U21 will play on November 17, with Denmark U21, in the EURO 2021 preliminaries.
In the previous action of the “tricolor” Astra had goalkeeper David Lazar in the first representative, and Dinamo had Deian Sorescu on the reserve list. In Romania U21, the two teams had no players.
Initial novelty:
On Wednesday night, the people of Giurgiu had 15 cases of infection after the last RT-PCR test, the list includes footballers who tested positive a few months ago and were infected again. On Thursday, Astra’s management tested several players from the second team, and today they received bad news: 12 of them are also infected. So Giurgiu’s team has great problems meeting the criteria imposed in the medical protocol, that of having 13 valid players, including a goalkeeper. Of the 12 from Astra’s second team, 6 players trained with the first team. Only one came out negative.
27 playerstest positive with COVID-19 has Astra at this time
Thus, the people of Giurgiu now wait for FRF and LPF to decide whether the match will be played with Dinamo, after Justin Ștefan, general secretary of the League, said yesterday that there is no reason to postpone the match.
How Astra motivates
The A list of our club, although it has 23 players registered, only has 18 with the right to play, considering that Takayuki, Fatai and Ioniţă are suspended, Baicu is operated and Valentin Gheorghe is suspended due to a red card. Likewise, it was not taken into account that the second team of our club has a match scheduled in League 3, so from the number of players that you found that could play, you have to subtract 16 and thus we arrive at a number of 8 players valid for the ninth day of League 1! Therefore, the Medical Protocol criteria are not met, so the game must be postponed according to this criteria.
– Astra press release
The club’s management also called for the postponement of the second team’s match. Astra II should play with Odorheiu Secuiesc, starting at 15:00, in League 3, and the people of Giurgiu want the game not to be played, after DSP Prahova said that it will open an epidemiological investigation.
