Romania is far from full quarantine to limit the spread of coronavirus infections, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban said.
“When we expand alertness, we institute measures that are designed to exceed different thresholds: 1 per thousand, 1.5 per thousand, 3 per thousand. We have instituted measures, which are designed together with specialists, to overcome the thresholds. Well you know, when the threshold of 3 per thousand inhabitants is exceeded, a series of measures are put in place. It is premature to do an evaluation now, the effects are seen after a period of at least 10 days.
Obviously, we are constantly evaluating the measures we can take. Our great concern is that these measures do not affect the economy because people need jobs and companies need to function. Our goal is to reduce the increase in the number of cases. We do not deny the increase in the number of cases.
We will have to have very serious reasons to impose other restrictions. There is talk of total quarantine. We are far from such a decision ”, said Ludovic Orban, on Friday, after participating in the top of Romanian companies.
