Ionuț Câmpean, captain of the Sibiu Gendarmerie, died on Wednesday of COVID-19, a week after the coronavirus infection. The man was 43 years old and had been hospitalized at Sibiu County Hospital since October 23. Three days ago, the man posted a message about how difficult it is to fight this disease. “Protect yourself as much as you can. I’ve been fighting for 5 days and I still haven’t won anything in the fight against the disease!”, According to the Council Tower.

According to the authorities, he was admitted on October 23, through the UPU, in the Department of Infectious Diseases, but although he was treated according to the protocol, his evolution was unfavorable, his lungs being severely affected. Last night, unfortunately, he suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest that he could not resuscitate.

“I believe that a disease worse than this COVID only beats cancer treatment. It is a terrible fight. Protect yourself as much as you can. I have been fighting for 5 days and I have not yet gained anything in the fight against the disease!”, Wrote the gendarme, 3 days ago, on his Facebook page.
