On Wednesday morning, the police carried out 12 searches in Bucharest, Dâmbovița and Argeș, in a criminal case of tax evasion in the field of protection and security services. The damage caused to the state budget is 4 million euros.
According to a statement from the IGPR, the police are conducting 12 home searches on Wednesday morning, in the counties of Bucharest and Dâmbovița and Argeș, on people and at the headquarters of a company in the field of security and protection.
According to the police, during the period 2014-2019, a protection and security company would have entered into contracts with a number of companies and firms, from which it received more than 95,200,000 lei (approximately 20,000,000 euros). To evade the payment of obligations with the State, the administrators ordered the registration in the accounting of the company and reported to the tax authorities the acquisitions of 83 companies, which were not based on actual transactions.
The damage caused to the state budget exceeds 18,500,000 lei (more than 4,000,000 euros), which represents income tax and VAT.
“In order to recover the damage, precautionary measures will be instituted on the movable and immovable property belonging to the suspects, respectively to the civil responsible,” the statement shows.
The objective of the investigation would be a Arge businessman, who over the years would have benefited from numerous favors from the state and who became the owner of the Ion Mihalache memorial house, about which the press wrote at the time of the transaction that it had sold well under the price initially set.
Five people must be questioned.
