A pack of wolves was filmed in a forest in Neamţ county. The images are even more spectacular as the wolf is a very discreet predator, which can rarely be caught in its natural environment, shown on Romsilva’s Facebook page.
In the filming made by Professor Ştefan Ciotău in the wilderness of the Tarcău forest district, six wolves appear. According to Romsilva, about 23 wolves live in the area where the filming took place.
Romania has one of the most developed wolf populations in Europe. These animals attack in the herd and direct the prey to places where it loses its mobility, for example rivers, where it dies.
The wolf is a carnivore that lives in packs and plays an important role in maintaining ecological balance and naturally healthy ecosystems.
Wolves can travel tens of kilometers a day in search of prey and when they attack they can run at almost 60 kilometers per hour. They have highly developed senses, allowing them to hunt by day and by night.
