One month after the elections, the mandate of the Mayor General of the Capital, Nicușor Dan, was finally validated. The Court of Appeal rejected the 52 appeals filed by PSD councilors.
They demanded a repeat of the elections, claiming that they had been defrauded.
Little Dan could take the oath on Thursday.
“Today, the Bucharest Court of Appeal took the natural decision to reject the totally unjustified PSD resources on the local elections of a month ago and validated the mandate of Mayor General of the Capital, granted by the citizens.
This week I will be able to officially take office and we will start building New Bucharest together, that is, to make a good city for honest people.
I thank the people of Bucharest again for the confidence expressed at the polls and for the desire to bring about change in this virulent city by an incompetent administration. See you at the oath and then, day by day, as partners “- Nicușor Dan announced on Facebook.
The current mayor of the capital, Gabriela Firea, recently posted on Facebook a photo with her in the City Hall office and a short text, in English, in which she states that she continues to work and that she is “like steel.”
“I’m still here”, writes Firea, adding: „And I like”.
Nicuşor Dan called the intelligence of the Bucharest people an “insult” to the photo that Firea took in the capital’s City Hall office and posted on Facebook.
