In the last 24 hours, 2,844 new cases of COVID-19 were registered out of 8,709 tests carried out. The positive rate thus reaches 32.6%. In addition, another 79 Romanians died due to coronavirus infection, while in ATI there are 823 patients with COVID.

To date, on October 26, in Romania, 212,492 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

151,811 patients were declared cured.

Following nationwide testing, compared to the last report, 2,844 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were recorded, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Apart from the recently confirmed cases, after retesting the patients who were already positive, 357 people were positively reconfirmed.

After Bucharest and the counties of Alba, Cluj, Harghita and Timiș, it enters the red stage after exceeding 3 infections per thousand inhabitants.

To date, 6,470 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 5 deaths were recorded in the category 40 to 49 years, 7 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 21 deaths in the category of age 60-69 years, 24 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 21 deaths in the category over 80 years.

76 of the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities, 1 deceased patient did not present comorbidities and of 2 deceased patients, no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 10,726. Of these, 823 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 3,064,698 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 8,709 were performed in the last 24 hours, 6,229 according to case definition and medical protocol, and 2,480 per request.

In Romania, 25,781 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 9,963 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 54,855 people are in home quarantine and 51 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 1,475 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 7,110 penalties for minor offenses, in the amount of 1,704,050 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 11 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,851 Romanian citizens were infected by COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,934 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,017 in Germany, 159 in the United Kingdom, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus , 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in the United Arab Emirates and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican and Portugal.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
