At least until the spring or summer of next year, we will not get rid of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and we will have to learn to live with it, Secretary of State Raed Arafat said this Sunday, Mediafax reports.
On a vaccine for the population, Raed Arafat said Sunday night, on Antena 3, that he does not expect a mass vaccination before February or March, if the vaccine begins to be sold and begins to be distributed at the beginning of the year. 2021.
“It is a very serious logistical problem. It will have to be organized globally and of course (…) the quantities to be distributed. Fortunately, Romania is part of a European mechanism and will benefit on the basis of a European procurement mechanism. So we are not alone in this situation and that is very good. The Ministry of Health knows exactly what is happening minute by minute and when the vaccine is distributed we will contact each other and of course we will receive our part of each section that is distributed at the level of the European Union, ”said Raed Arafat.
The DSU chief also said that people must learn to live with the virus, at least until next summer.
“From the point of view of how the virus will evolve, I think that at least until the spring or summer of next year we will not remain calm. We will have to learn to live with the virus by following all the rules that many urge us not to follow. If we renounce certain aspects of our life temporarily, without significantly affecting it, then it is possible to go well when things return to a quasi-abnormality, that is, towards spring-summer ”, added Arafat.
