Lucian Bode, the transport minister, told Digi24 on Sunday that he has good news for Romanian drivers and listed several road infrastructure projects that will be inaugurated later this year. The minister said that he hopes the first section of the highway in Moldova can be inaugurated before the end of the year.
“I want to finish everything that I started and that has a physical progress of more than 90 percent: detours, national highways. I think 2020 will be the year when we can say that roads have been built in Romania, and the period 2021-2024 will be the period in which the transportation infrastructure will be developed and will be the backbone on which the economy of this country will be built ”, said Lucian Bode.
“In Romania, completing a large infrastructure project on time is something out of the ordinary. If you finally manage to complete it ahead of time, we can say that it is a miracle. But it is not a miracle,” the Minister of Transport also declared on Sunday in Digi24.
Râșnov-Cristian, turnoff Bacău, Sebeș-Turda lot 1, turnoff Rădăuți, turnoff Secuieni Bihor They are among the road infrastructure projects that will be ready by the end of this year, says Transport Minister Lucian Bode.
Lucian Bode: 2020, the year of road construction in Romania
He recalled that in the spring he declared that 2020 will be the year of road construction in Romania.
“Then I based my statement on some arguments: I came out of the state of emergency, on May 15, with all the important works kept open during the pandemic. In this difficult period of pandemic, we were able to give new work orders, thus starting work on the Sibiu-Pitești highway or on the Transilvania highway, for 105 kilometers of highway and fast track, we gave new starting orders. Also during this period, we concluded new design and execution contracts for approximately 450 kilometers of roads, expressways and detours, thus entering an irreversible trajectory of implementations, ”said Lucian Bode of Digi24.
The minister claims that Romania has reached a record high of nine months in terms of public investment in the last ten years: 30 billion lei. Eurostat found that we have a 12.4 percent increase in construction, and 50 percent of this increase is due to engineering construction – highways, expressways, detours, Bode said.
The situation of the Sebeș-Turda highway
About Sebes-Turda, lot 1, the 17 km, according to the contract, were to be completed in 2018. At this time, the physical progress exceeds 95 percent. Since we will have at least 25 days without bad weather, in favorable weather conditions, the 17 km of the Sebeș – Turda highway will be put into circulation, says the minister.
“Too, Rasnov-Cristian, there are 10 kilometers from Comarnic-Brașov, they have a deadline this year, they will be completed this year! ”- assures the minister.
It is not a miracle to finish early!
“It is not a miracle to end early. It is the normality for which we have been fighting for a long time,” says Lucian Bode.
In this sense, he also set the example Bacău Bypass. “We have 31 kilometers here, of which 17 km by highway. They have a completion deadline of January 2022. At the beginning of September, we put 7 km of the national road into circulation, the connection to Onești and the 17 km of road have at this time a physical progress of over 95 percent. That gives me hope that before the end of the year we will be able to inaugurate the first section of the motorway in Moldova! ”Said the Minister of Transport.
“Too, the Craiova-Pitești motorway, with section 2, with the two detours, from Balş and Slatina, 41 km, at this moment they have a physical advance of more than 55 percent. And here we are talking about a Romanian builder, as in Râșnov-Cristian, the Bacău bypass is the same constructor, who managed to overcome physical progress on the contract and will complete this job, with the two bypasses, Balş and Slatina, before the term established in the contract, that is, December 2021 ”, said Lucian Bode.
What about the Capital Beltway?
The Minister of Transport was also asked about the situation of the Bucharest ring road.
“The beltway of the Capital has 102 km. The southern sector has three sections, a total of 52 km.
Section 1 has a deadline for the presentation of the technical project and we will issue the order to start the works at the end of the year.
In section 2, the works began on a section and we will give the order to start the 14 km difference in level, but unfortunately, in section 3, the contractor did not deliver the project on time, we apply a penalty, we hope that he will wake up and have all three sections operational by the end of this year.
As for the northern sector, with 50 km, we have a section for which we signed the design and execution contract and three sections that were tendered, but which are unfortunately in the appeal period, ”Lucian explained. Presage.
“We We have proposed that by 2023 the Bucharest Ring Road, in the highway profile, be completed as a component part of the main pan-European corridor Constanța-Bucharest-Pitești-Sibiu-Nădlac.“Concluded the Minister of Transport.
