On Saturday Prime Minister Ludovic Orban was asked at a press conference whether he will be prime minister even after the December parliamentary elections, Mediafax reports.
“The prime minister is appointed by the party that wins the elections,” said Orban, convinced of the NLP’s victory.
On Friday, USR-Plus deputy Ionuț Moșteanu declared that the USR-PLUS alliance enters the parliamentary elections with the desire to yield to the prime minister in the future government and “no one has a blank check.” Moșteanu said that Dacian Cioloş would be “the best man more than appropriate to lead the future government.”
In response to what Orban said on Saturday, the PSD president said on Facebook that Orban’s response must be written down, convinced that the elections will be won by the PSD.
“Keep It Written! Orban, Oct 24, 2020:
The PSD president reminds the prime minister that he must publicly present Romania’s budget.
“If it doesn’t bring #austerity, why are they keeping it hidden ?!” Ciolacu also wrote.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled for December 6.
