A 44-year-old local police officer from Galați died, between Friday night and Saturday, infected with SARS-CoV-2. He had been confirmed on October 15, after being isolated on October 10 for presenting symptoms of the disease, but did not go to the hospital.

“The direction of the Local Police has been informed since the diagnosis was confirmed. All local police officers who were in direct contact were isolated and general disinfection was ordered in the section where he worked and in all service vehicles, ”said Aurelia Bogatu Matei, spokeswoman for the Galati Local Police.
The local police officer who died of COVID-19 was not known to have chronic illnesses. He was married and had a son.
