Coronavirus Romania, balance October 23. By Friday, in Romania, 201,032 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus were confirmed. 144,429 patients were declared cured.
After the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 5,028 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19), these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.
Apart from newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 876 people were positively reconfirmed. The county distribution of these cases can be found in the following table.
Until today, 6,245 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection died.
Between 22.10.2020 (10:00) – 23.10.2020 (10:00) 82 deaths were reported (52 men and 30 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Covasna, Galați, Gorj , Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.
Of these, 5 deaths were recorded in the 40-49 years category, 6 deaths were recorded in the 50-59 years age category, 22 deaths in the 60-69 years age category, 25 deaths in the 70-70 age category 79 years and 24 deaths in the category of over 80 years.
81 of the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities, and 1 deceased patient did not present comorbidities.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 10,427. Of these, 782 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 3,002,800 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 35,351 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 22,018 according to the case definition and medical protocol and 13,333 upon request.
Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 5,887 tests processed before the last 24 hours and delivered until October 23 were reported.
In Romania, 24,199 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home and 9,725 people are in institutional isolation. Additionally, 50,658 people are in home quarantine and 52 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 2,617 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 912 of the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 6,316 sanctions for minor offenses, in the amount of 857,413 lei.
Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 9 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
