An 80-year-old man from Corabia is accused of illegally producing thousands of liters of brandy. The police are investigating him after they discovered brandy and various sums of money in his home. In addition, the pensioner was fined by representatives of ANAF.
According to investigators, on Wednesday, Corabia City Police officers searched the home of an 80-year-old man, in a criminal case targeting the illegal production of alcohol. Boilers of artisanal distillate were found in his home, as well as the quantity of 7,556 liters of brandy, stored in plastic barrels, according to Mediafax.

The amount of 536 liters of alcohol was taken from the old man’s house, and the difference of 7020 liters was sealed and left in the man’s custody. Also on the occasion of the raid, the amount of 9,250 euros and 16,650 lei was found and seized.
Investigators carry out checks in a case concerning the crime of possession by anyone outside the tax warehouse or the sale on Romanian territory of excise goods subject to marking, according to this title, without being marked or marked incorrectly or with false marks.
Likewise, the employees of the National Tax Administration Agency who participated in the Police action applied a penalty for an infraction to the man in the amount of 5,000 lei.
