According to the judicial portal, the Court of Appeal of Ploieşti increased, by the decision pronounced on Monday, the sentence established by the court of first instance, for which the defendant Robert Gabriel Berechet will serve a sentence of 12 years, 9 months and 20 days , being sentenced to domestic violence, rape and two crimes of violation of privacy, writes Agerpres.
The Ploieşti District Court had established, on the merits, a sentence of nine years, five months and ten days in prison for the accused.
The young man was detained by investigators after videos in which he abused his girlfriend were posted on Facebook.
The terrible scenes took place in 2018, on December 1. The young man, who was then 17 years old, subjected his girlfriend to humiliations difficult to imagine. Everything was filmed by the attacker himself, who could not abstain and wanted to show off his feat to his friends on the internet. This is how the police arrived, who immediately arrested him.
On Tuesday, the Ploieşti Court of Appeal sentenced him definitively to 13 years in prison for his act. He is charged with assault or other violence, rape, deprivation of liberty and violation of privacy.
