In the last 24 hours, 3,400 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, out of 29,400 tests. Another 65 Romanians died due to coronavirus infections. The infection rate in Bucharest increases and reaches 3.23 / thousand inhabitants. 768 COVID patients are hospitalized in intensive care, the highest number since the start of the pandemic.
To date, on October 20, in Romania, 186,254 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 3,400 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

In Romania, 20,352 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 9,880 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 50,285 people are in home quarantine and 16 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 in relation to some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 5,220 penalties for minor offenses, amounting to 837,030 lei.
Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 11 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
