The infection rate in Bucharest is increasing, reaching 3.19 cases per thousand inhabitants. Alba County is approaching the 3 per thousand threshold. Other counties where there are more than 2.5 infections per thousand inhabitants are Sălaj and Vâlcea.

The contagion rate increased in the Capital compared to the previous day when it was 3.02. This Monday, the authorities report a contagion rate of 3.19 cases per thousand inhabitants, in the context in which, at 3:00 p.m., a meeting of the Municipal Council of Emergency Situations is scheduled in which new measures to limit the spread of coronavirus infections.

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban announced that masks will be mandatory everywhere in Bucharest from Monday, and that restaurants, cafes, theaters and cinemas will be closed for the next 14 days.

“Our aim is to stop the increase in the number of infections during this period. These are the most severe measures contained in the alert decision. The aim of the measures is to minimize interactions between people,” explained the prime minister.
