The situation in Vrancea is complicated for the PSD leadership. Marcel Ciolacu would like Marian Oprişan to take a definite step back and not run for any position. For this reason, political sources told “Adevărul” that Marcel Ciolacu was in Vrancea this weekend to finalize the lists of parliamentarians.
Marian Oprişan is not so easily removed either. Political sources claim for “Adevărul” that PSD leader Vrancea mobilized several mayors to support him in an attempt to open the list in the Senate.
The last day to present lists of candidates to parliament is Wednesday, October 22, so a decision will be made these days.
Marian Oprişan lost after two decades the leadership of the Provincial Council in the last place, against the liberal Cătălin Toma.
