Professor Alexandru Rafila considers it necessary to wear a mask on the street of Bucharest, after the explosion of coronavirus cases. However, he added that the authorities must change their message so that people realize that wearing a mask is an advantage.
Romania’s representative to the WHO said that “there will be up to 1,000” patients in intensive care, because there are “jumps” of about 500 new cases of cornavirus from one week to another.
“Next week will be the echo of this week, when we have 4,000 or more than 4,000 cases. Which means that, again, there will be a jump in intensive care units, ”he added.
Registered a few days ago in the PSD, Alexandru Rafila expressed his willingness to support Ludovic Orban “with affection and responsibility in any way” so that the contagion trend decreases: “Here we are no longer talking about political options, we are talking about a greater public interest and we must all serve that interest ”.
Asked if the mask would be mandatory in all public spaces in Bucharest, Rafila replied that “it would be a very good idea.”
“I would not say that Bucharest has the same problem as Suceava in spring, because it is a much bigger city, it has a lot more possibilities in terms of medical care, but certainly that measure can be taken without any problem,” he added.
“I don’t think the measure itself is the most important. I think the most important thing is to adapt our messages so that people feel the need to wear a mask in public spaces. We do not necessarily have to impose them, but we have to explain them in the clearest way possible to achieve it, ”said Alexandru Rafila.
