MIA Secretary of State Raed Arafat says in a Facebook post that he will never be heard saying that he has lost a fight, referring to efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Today, several news agencies released a statement attributed to me about the “loss of the fight with COVID-19.” The statement was made during last night’s show on Digi24. The only reference on the show to losing the fight with COVID-19 was when we talked about our colleague from the Fetesti emergency department, who lost the fight with COVID-19 dying Thursday night to Friday.
I truly believe that together we can manage to limit the impact of the pandemic in Romania and save as many lives as possible. You will never hear me say that we have lost a fight because this would implicitly mean that we have nothing to do, which is not true at all. Personally, I believe that the measures we take and implement will be the basis to stop the increase in the number of cases, reach a plateau and start a downward trend. This takes time and effort from all of us.
I thank the press agencies that corrected the initial news! ”Raed Arafat wrote.
